Ann Marie & Jonnathan | Muscat | Oman
December 2023
A Melting pot of Diverse Cultures and Traditions
I was flown in from India to cover this fabulous wedding of Ann Marie, a Greek/Indian bride, and Jonathan, an American groom, in Muscat, Oman. Ann Marie was raised in Oman, so they decided to have their wedding there. Anne Marie's ( The Bride) adamant choice to have me cover her wedding was truly gratifying. It's incredibly fulfilling when clients like her appreciate my work enough to prioritize me for their special day. Knowing that my photography resonates deeply with them is the most rewarding aspect of being a wedding photographer.
Covering weddings with mixed cultures is always fascinating, and this one was a melting pot of diverse traditions. It was an intimate wedding, and the bridal couple, along with their families, were incredibly welcoming and kind throughout our coverage. The nuptials were held at Ghala Church in Muscat, with other events taking place at the Al Bustan Palace - Ritz Carlton Hotel Muscat. I also offered a complimentary post-wedding shoot, as newly married couples naturally exude a unique chemistry and love that is unparalleled.

East Meets West: The Wedding Saga of an Indian-Goan Bride and American Groom
Alisha, originally raised in the beautiful state of Goa in India, reached out after viewing my portfolio. After a few calls to go over the details of their wedding, she and Mathew took the decision to hire our team for their wedding coverage.
Alisha and Mathew were such a warm and hospitable couple, and it was truly a pleasure covering every aspect of their wedding. Their non-traditional beach view ceremony, seamlessly adjacent to the reception was held at Prainha Resort By The Sea ensured the entire event flowed smoothly without delays or glitches, thanks to their efficient wedding planner Fergie ( Weddings by Fergie)
The post-wedding shoot on the bustling Miramar beach required careful selection of angles to minimize distractions and clutter in the background. With a touch of post-editing, we were able to create a seamless and stunning final result.
In India, weddings are typically a collaborative effort involving photographers, videographers, cinematographers, and drone operators. The usual practice involves a crew of six: two photographers (including one traditional photographer), two cinematographers, one traditional videographer, and one drone operator. This setup is often tailored based on the number of guests and the client's budget.

Manoj and Subha Wedding Ceremony | Goa | India

A Tamil Wedding Ceremony in Goa
A Tamil Hindu wedding ceremony is an elaborate event that emphasizes family, tradition, and the sacredness of marriage. It often involves many rituals that are rich in symbolism and cultural significance, making it a memorable and meaningful occasion for everyone involved.
A Hindu Tamil wedding ceremony with the pandit includes several key rituals. It starts with the groom's Kashi Yatra, where he pretends to leave for a pilgrimage but is convinced to stay and marry. The couple participates in the Oonjal Ceremony, sitting on a swing and being blessed. The Kanyadaanam follows, where the bride’s father gives her away. The central moment is the tying of the mangalsutra by the groom. Finally, the couple performs the Saptapadi, taking seven steps around the sacred fire, each step representing a vow for their married life. It was the first coverage for me so I enjoyed the assignment. The decor and wedding planning was done by Ritu Mago

Steffy and Jake Wedding | Muscat | Oman

Documenting a Close Friend's Wedding Day
Capturing a close friend's wedding is always special. Steffy and Jake are good friends, and we've known each other for a long time. It makes a big difference when both the photography team and the bridal party are super comfortable with each other. This comfort allows for more creativity and brings a sense of ease and less stress to the wedding party, as everyone knows they have each other's backs.
I covered their bachelorette party, the nuptials, the reception, and then we did a separate location shoot. It can be distracting as you're expected to be part of the celebrations, but I usually save that for the later part of the reception when my assistant takes over. The fact is, I love documentary-style photography, and even if I hadn't been the official photographer, I would have shown up with a camera to capture it.

A Pandemic Wedding Day in Muscat Oman
Who doesn’t remember the pandemic? It disrupted every aspect of life, and many wedding plans were either canceled or postponed. Some couples had to opt for a very scaled-down version of their wedding, like Joanne and Andrew, who only had a small nuptials ceremony without a reception.
As a complimentary service to most of my wedding clients, I always include a free post-wedding shoot. Honestly, this is the best part of the wedding for me to cover. It allows for maximum creativity, great locations, and a wonderful opportunity to capture the couple relaxed, composed, and deeply in love.

Rakshita and Ashwin Wedding Reception Goa | India
11th. February 2023
A Rocking wedding with Luke Kenny
Sometimes couples only opt to have a reception in places like Goa, as the actual wedding ceremony has already taken place elsewhere. Ashwin and Rakshita were a very happy-go-lucky and fun couple to cover.
Their reception was held at the stunning Bay 15 Odxel Beach in Dona Paula. They had the famous Luke Kenny who is an Indian film director, producer, music director, composer, former VJ, actor, and singer. Luke Kenny’s band performed live, and they truly rocked the wedding.

Rudy & Relissa Wedding in Goa | India
3rd January 2023
A fun wedding The Goan Way
Rudy and Relissa are the sweetest and most fun couple to be around. We have been friends for a long time, and when they decided to get married, I was more than willing to officially shoot their wedding and be part of the fun times.
It was a typical Goan wedding with family members from various parts of the globe coming together to celebrate their special day. We witnessed many Goan traditions and cultures, including the bride's Roce and the groom's Royce party, which was the craziest I have ever documented.
This was followed by the actual wedding nuptials, reception, and after-party. I also covered their save-the-date shoot and a post-wedding shoot. So, yeah, there was a lot of content that I'm sure they will cherish as fond memories of their special day.
I love weddings, and covering a friend's wedding always pumps me up to give more than I can at times. Best of luck to the sweetest couple!

Rebecca and James Wedding Ceremony | Muscat | Oman
25th March 2021
A Pandemic Christian wedding in Oman
Rebecca and James's Christian wedding ceremony was shot during the pandemic at Ghala Church - Muscat Oman, followed by a small gathering at the Grand Hyatt Muscat - Oman. It almost feels unreal seeing us all in masks and practicing social distancing, and all of this was not too long ago.
As wedding photographers, we must be attuned to any situation. Storytelling is paramount, along with capturing the decisive moment and using creative composition to tell a compelling story. This skill comes from a deep understanding and years of experience in understanding the nuances of light and shadow, anticipating decisive moments, and being at the right place and time to capture those fleeting moments that can never be replicated. Covering important events like weddings requires more than technical expertise; it requires an artistic touch.
Wedding photography is an art, and we, as photographers, craft images with a keen awareness of the rules and experiences we have garnered over the years to know what makes a good photograph.

Sariya and Faris Post Wedding Shoot | Muscat | Oman
14th Feb 2021
An Omani Pandemic Post Wedding Shoot
Meet Sariya and Faris, a radiant Omani couple whose post-wedding shoot at Sifaway - Muriya captured their love beautifully. Despite pandemic restrictions preventing us from covering their wedding, we seized the opportunity to create stunning images in this picturesque coastal destination.
Sifaway - Muriya, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and tranquil atmosphere, provided the perfect setting. Having previously captured its property, lifestyle, and events, I knew Sariya from my work at Sifaway - Muriya, making this shoot even more special.

Ali and Lubina - Haldi , Mehndi and Wedding Reception
| Muscat | Oman
14th Feb 2021
An Indian Muslim Wedding
Ali and Lubaina's wedding was celebrated in Muscat, Oman. Ali initially lived in Oman before moving to Canada, where he met Lubaina. They decided to have their wedding in Oman, as it felt like a second home to Ali with his parents still residing there. Covering an Indian wedding is always a joyous experience. The Haldi and Mehndi ceremonies are especially vibrant and filled with bursts of Bollywood dancing from both sides of the family, ensuring there's never a dull moment.
The Haldi ceremony, involves applying a turmeric paste to the bride and groom. This ritual is believed to bring prosperity and ward off evil spirits. It's a fun and lively event, often accompanied by singing and dancing.
The Mehndi ceremony, involves intricate henna designs being applied to the bride's hands and feet. It's a festive occasion with music, dance, and colorful attire, celebrating the bride and her beauty.
These joyous events typically happen on Day 1, followed by a more subdued and intimate reception at the Grand Hyatt Muscat on Day 2. The colors, traditions, cultures, songs, and overall vibe of Indian weddings are incredibly inspirational and a delight to capture.

Jan 2018
A Fun and Wacky Indian Muslim Wedding
Nayaab and Fahad's wedding was a comprehensive coverage of an Indian Muslim celebration. It was action-packed, traditional, and filled with fun moments. The couple had excellent chemistry, making it a joy to cover their wedding. Having previously covered Nayaab's sister's wedding, I was familiar with the bridal party and many of the guests. As a complimentary gift, I provided a free post-wedding shoot, capturing their wacky and funny interactions, which was an absolute delight.

Patsy and Tyler - An Intimate Wedding Ceremony

An Intimate American Beach wedding
In the gentle embrace of Muscat’s shores, love’s tender whispers danced on the breeze, etching a timeless memory upon the sands of Qantab Village.
Patsy and Tyler, an American couple, decided to have a very intimate and meaningful wedding in Muscat, Oman, surrounded by close friends and family. Although it was under two hours of coverage, it stands as the most meaningful wedding I've captured. Every bit of their event flow was filled with significance—from the reading of the vows, to the release of pigeons, to the bride and her brother arriving in a fishing boat, and finally, the release of lanterns—all set on a predominantly local Omani beach at Qantab Village in Muscat. I truly enjoyed covering this wedding, and it remains one of my favorites to date. Small, short, but profoundly meaningful.

Manzil and Fuad | Indo - Pakistan | Muslim Wedding
| Muscat | Oman
February 2018
Pakistani Bride and Indian Groom - Love Has No Boundaries
Pakistani Bride and India Groom - Love has no Boundries
If you know the political history of India and Pakistan, there is no need to say much more. Manzil and Fuad's wedding was a testament to the fact that, at the ground level, people truly care for and respect each other. Everyone desires to live in peace and harmony. This wedding bond is a shining example of crossing such barriers, and it was wonderful to witness the love and affection that both sides of the family had for everyone, regardless of religion or nationality.
This was one of my favorite and most memorable weddings to cover. The bridal couple looked so good together, and seeing a mix of Indian and Pakistani traditions was amazing. Thank goodness there was no cricket match happening, or we would have had a very different outcome.
